Route outline

The 10km Route is from New Brighton Pier to Redcliff’s Park and starts at 9am.

The 4km Route starts 6km down that route at Ti Rakau Reserve and starts at 9:45am.

This route is accessible to scooters and prams. Some people in wheelchairs may be able to complete either route, but first see the Frequently Asked Questions about wheelchair access. There are tricky parts of grassy terrain and gravel paths areas of the 4km route through Charlesworth Reserve,  and grass in the finish line at Redcliffs Park. So make sure you are all taking care of each other and helping each other out – especially around those areas. In some places there will be pedestrian fences and road cones and you’ll need to stay behind them so you’re not mixed up with the traffic.

Terrain

80% of the route is on the road and will be ideal conditions for kids on scooters and parents with prams.
However, it is really (really!) important to note there are a couple of grassy areas (especially around the 4km start) and a couple of loose shingle areas along the route. It’s vital around these areas that you look out for each other!

Cut Off Points/Times

The infrastructure along the course (fencing, route marshals, water stations etc) will be in place until the last participants go through. We anticipate this will be around 12noon. But it’s not a race, and we’re not in a rush! We will leave it in place as long as we need to for each and every person to complete this course.

DOGS

Dogs are allowed on both the 4km and the 10km courses, so bring them along and let them join in the fun!

Finishers’ Party

The finish line is where the party is at! Once you come through that finish chute, and are greeted by your friends and family, you’re not going to want to leave! There’ll be food, drinks, prizes, and not to mention some seriously cool performers! Our entertainment/prize giving lineup will be announced closer to the time so stay tuned.

Redcliffs Park will be alive with festivities including food, drink, and entertainment from 10am – 12.30pm. We’ll have a stage with music all morning till finish, a bar and hospitality area, as well as delicious fresh food available for purchase.
Some of our amazing leading partners and supporters will have tents to celebrate with their staff and customers.
